Egypt's GASC sets tender to buy wheat in July

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Tuesday has set a tender   to buy an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for shipment from 15 July to 25 July.

GASC’s vice chairman Ahmed Youssef told Reuters that the shipments can be imported from the U.S., Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Poland, Argentina, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Paraguay.

Receipt of the bids shall be closed on Tuesday at 10:00am GMT, the tender results will be announced at 13:30am GMT.

Egypt, the largest wheat importer in the world, consumes about 15 million tonnes of wheat yearly, according to official figures.
