Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 5.4% during fiscal year 2017/2018, prime minister said.
The Egyptian government aims a GDP growth of 8% by FY21/22, Mostafa Madbouly highlighted in his parliament speech.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi previously said that Egypt seeks a GDP of up to 7% in the few next years.
It is worth noting that the government targets a GDP growth of 5.8% in FY18/19.
In February, the planning ministry said that Egypt’s economic growth rate rose to 5.3% in the second quarter of FY17/18.
Moreover, the ministry that the country aims growth rate to hit 7% by 2021.
