Cairo – Mubasher: A recent report released by the General Organization for Export & Import Control (GOEIC) has overlooked $2 billion from Egypt's exports in 2017.
The GOEIC, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, said in a report released mid-January that Egypt's non-oil exports had increased by 10% year-on-year in 2017 to $20.5 billion.
However, a report by the ministry, released Friday, showed that Egypt's non-oil exports had grown 10% in 2017 to $22.42 billion from $20.41 billion in 2016.
Exports from the fertiliser and chemicals segment registered the highest portion of non-oil exports during the 12-month period ended 2017 with $4.4 billion, up 32% from 2016.
Egypt's trade balance deficit fell 26% in the first 11 months of 2017 to $12 billion, a previous report by the Ministry of Trade and Industry showed.
