Egypt's Haya Karima seeks to achieve full urban sanitation coverage – PM

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is looking to reach full coverage of sanitation services in rural and urban areas by the end of 2021 or 2022, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said.

During the inauguration of the Builders of Egypt Forum on Wednesday, Madbouly noted that this objective is part of the Haya Karima (A Decent Life) initiative, according to state-run TV.

The sanitation coverage in rural areas surged to 38%, compared to 11% in 2014, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi revealed on Tuesday during the launching ceremony for the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) report on human development in Egypt for 2021.

On a side note, Madbouly said that the transportation sector has witnessed unprecedented progress in the recent period as the country advanced 90 places in the world's road index.
