Cairo – Mubasher: Investments in the Egyptian information and communications technology (ICT) sector grew by 25% to EGP 35 billion in 2019 from EGP 28 billion, advisor to the minister of communications and information technology Golestan Radwan revealed.
Exports of the ICT sector increased by 12.5% to $3.6 billion this year, compared to $3.2 billion, Radwan said on behalf of the communications minister during Ahram Economic Conference on Sunday.
As one of the top growing sectors, the country’s ICT sector, which contributes 3.2-4% to gross domestic product (GDP), grew by 16% to EGP 93 billion from EGP 80 billion, Radwan noted.
