Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, said that startups in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector attracted investments worth $390 million during the first nine months of 2021, compared to $190 million last year.
Investments in ICT startups are projected to exceed $400 million by the end of 2021, Talaat added in a statement on Sunday.
The minister attended the graduation ceremony of the Summer Internship program in assistive technology (AT), launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and implemented by the National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID), in collaboration with Ain Shams University’s Innovation Hub (iHub).
The program is part of the ministry's efforts to support research and development (R&D) in assistive technology to empower persons with disabilities and support their social inclusion.
