Egypt's IDA approves EGP 1.8bn investments in July

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Industrial Development Authority (IDA) has given its final approval for 144 industrial projects at total investments worth EGP 1.8 billion in July, said trade and industry minister Tarek Kabil in a statement on Friday.

He added that total projects approved in the same period last year stood at 91 projects at investments worth EGP 1.9 billion.

The projects are located inside and outside industrial freezones.

The minister revealed that the approved projects span 8 sectors, with 46 projects approved for the foodstuffs sector, 45 for industrial engineering, 19 for textiles, 18 for chemical industries and with the remainder being divided among mining, leather and other industries.

In June, the IDA approved 180 industrial projects at investments totalling EGP 3 billion.
