Egypt's Ministry of Supply buys edible oil at EGP 750m

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Supply and Internal Trading on Monday said it will purchase 52,500 tonnes of edible oil after winning a tender, at a value of EGP 750 million.

The cargo consists of 30,000 tonnes of soybean oil and 22,500 tonnes of sunflower oil.

The ministry stated that Egypt’s strategic reserves of edible oil rose to 3.5 months after including the last cargo.

Egypt’s Ministry of Supply aims to produce edible oil to cover 40% of the domestic consumption by negotiating investments with foreign companies to produce edible oil in Egypt.
