Egypt’s PM promises no price increases following IMF loan

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian minister Mostafa Madbouly affirmed that the potential financial assistance sought by Egypt from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) won’t have any negative impact on citizens nor will it lead to a price increase of goods and services.

The financial package will only involve structural reforms, Madbouly said in a statement on Wednesday.

The most populous Arab nation requested a one-year financial assistance from the IMF to help mitigate the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on economy under the IMF’s rapid financing instrument (RFI) and stand-by arrangement (SBA).
