Egypt’s SFD to inject EGP 76.5m into 4,000 micro-enterprises

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency (formerly Social Fund for Development (SFD) will finance up to 4,000 microfinance projects with a total cost of EGP 76.5 million, chairperson Neven Jameh said in a statement on Wednesday.

This move will create approximately 8,000 jobs, Jameh added, noting that the SFD has established social development projects at a value of EGP 44 million that provided about 6,000 permanent and temporary jobs.

The SFD had pumped EGP 13 million into financing 213 microfinance projects that provided 461 jobs and grants of 775,000 to fund training and social development projects, the statement alluded.
