Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s receipts from Suez Canal increased to $3 billion during the first half of fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to $2.9 billion in the year-ago period, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Monday.
The transportation surplus excluding Suez Canal receipts dropped by $399 million to $298.6 million in H1 of FY19/20, compared to $697.6 million in the corresponding period a year earlier.
It is noteworthy to mention that Egypt's balance of payments (BoP) recorded an overall surplus of $410.9 million in H1 of FY19/20, compared to an overall deficit of $1.8 billion in the prior-year period.
