Egypt’s Suez Canal revenues up 4.3% in Aug

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Suez Canal revenues surged 4.3% in August 2016, according to Egyptian Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).

The water canal achieved revenues of $447.6 million in August up from $429 million a month earlier.

The canal is one of Egypt's main sources of foreign currency. Egypt has been struggling to revive its economy since a 2011 uprising scared away tourists and foreign investors, other main sources of hard currency.
