Egypt’s T-bill sales hit EGP 14.5bn Thursday - CBE

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that issues of 182-day and 357-day treasury bills (T-bills) reached a combined of EGP 14.5 billion on Thursday.

With an average yield of 17.8%, the 182-day notes were oversubscribed 2.6 times at EGP 6.75 billion, according to the CBE’s official website.

Meanwhile, the 357-day notes were oversubscribed 2.1 times at EGP 7.75 billion with an average yield of 18.05%, the CBE highlighted.

Earlier this morning, the CBE announced that it has issued T-bills worth EGP 14.5 billion.

Egyptian debt instruments are attracting a large number of foreign investors, especially T-bills, as the yield on bonds exceeded 20%.
