Egypt’s VAT revenues at EGP 191.25bn in 7M

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government revenues from the value-added tax (VAT) marginally increased during the first seven months of the current fiscal year, a recent report by the Ministry of Finance showed.

VAT revenues amounted to EGP 191.25 billion between July 2019 and January 2020, compared with EGP 190.82 billion for the same period in the previous year.

Sales tax revenue reached EGP 85.17 billion during the same period, compared with EGP 84.47 billion for the corresponding period of last year.

Taxes on local goods registered EGP 27.22 billion, while taxes on imported goods amounted to EGP 57.95 billion.

Revenues from taxes on services reached EGP 26.96 billion, compared with EGP 21.36 in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

During the seven-month period, Egypt’s tax revenues increased to EGP 473.42 billion from EGP 366.8 billion for the corresponding period of the year before.
