Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s wheat reserve for 2014/15 plummeted 38.7% year-over-year to 800,000 tonnes from 1.3 tonnes, Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) confirmed.
The public and private sector’s wheat barns for a third party increased 3.5% to 537 in 2014/15, compared to 519 barns a year earlier, the agency said, adding that the number of stores for a third party in 2014/15 dropped 27.3% year-on-year to 1,069 from 1,470.
Earlier, the Minister of Supply announced that wheat strategic reserve lasts up till next June.
