Cairo – Mubasher: The production of Egypt’s supergiant offshore Zohr gasfield in the Mediterranean will reach around 1.8 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) by mid-September 2018.
The petroleum ministry is planning to boost natural gas production from Zohr as of May, a source told local newspaper Al Youm7.
Around 350 million cubic feet are set to be tied up to the national gas grid, bringing Zohr's total gas production to approximately 700 million cubic feet, the source highlighted.
In December, petroleum minister Tarek El-Molla said that pumping Zohr's gas output into the Port Said treatment plant had started with an initial production capacity of 350 million cubic feet per day (mcfd).
