Cairo – Mubasher: The Zohr gas field located in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea will start production by the end of 2017 with an estimated capacity of 350 million cubic feet per day.
Zohr’s production will rise gradually to approximately billion cubic feet of gas per day by mid-2018, the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum added in a statement on Friday.
The Egyptian giant gas field’s production will reach 2.7 billion cubic feet per day late 2019, the statement highlighted.
Egypt’s gas output stood at 5.1 billion cubic feet per day in 2017, up from 4.4 cubic feet of gas per day in 2016 on the back of British Petroleum’s (BP) North Alexandria project.
