Egypt's annual core inflation drops to 5.9% in July – CBE

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s annual core inflation fell to 5.9% in July, compared to 6.4% last June, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Thursday.

The consumer price index (CPI) recorded 0.1% last month, compared to 0.3% last June and 0.6% in July 2018, the CBE added.

Earlier this day, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the North African nation’s annual inflation declined to 7.8% in July, compared to 13% in the corresponding month of 2018.
