Egypt’s bourse benchmark climbs 3% in early trade

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kicked off Tuesday’s session in green zone, as the benchmark index EGX30 gained 3% or 183 points reaching the level of 6,124 points.

Egypt’s bourse suspended trading on 10 stocks after they surged more than 5%, few minutes after the beginning of the session.

The stocks of Porto Group and Amer Group advanced 9.6% and 8.57% respectively following the companies’ announcement of buying 125 million treasury stocks.

The stocks of heavy weigh Commercial International Bank and Orascom Telecom Media went up 3.8% and 9% respectively.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 leaped 1.5% to 346.8 points, while the broader index EGX100 edged up 1.43% to 705 points.

The market trading value stood at EGP 13 million in Tuesday’s early trade.
