Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed on positive note on Sunday, as the benchmark added 0.52% or 67.07 points to close at 12,891.39 points.
The small and medium caps index EGX70 added 0.08% to 464.62 points, while the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.07% to 1,113.8 points.
The equal weighted index gained 0.39% or 7.8 points to close at 2,000.15 points.
The market witnessed 778.6 million shares changed hands worth EGP 1.5 billion.
Local and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 41.5 million and EGP 176,000 respectively, while Arab investors were sellers with EGP 41.3 million.
Retail investors were net buyers with EGP 53.8 million, while institutions were net sellers with.
The market capitalization gained EGP 1.5 billion reaching EGP 616.3 billion.
Out of 178 stocks traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 75 to 70, while 33 stocks remained unchanged.
CIB, the heaviest stock of the EGX30 closed 0.2% down. Today’s top performing stocks were: Porto Group, up 6.9%, Telecom Egypt, up 4.5%, and GB Auto, up 3.6%. Today’s worst performing stocks included Domty, down 3.6%, Emaar Misr, down 3.0%, and ACC, down 2.9%.
