Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) benchmark closed in green zone on Monday, as it gained 3.11% or 354.45 points at 11,752.46 points.
The small and medium caps index EGX70 added 0.95% to 458.79 points, while the broader index EGX100 gained 1.27% to close at 1,082.8 points.
Similarly, the equal weighted index EGX50 went up 2.3% to close at 1,879.27 points.
The market witnessed 628,000 shares changed hands worth EGP 2.448 billion.
The market capitalization gained EGP 10.6 billion reaching EGP 586.4 billion.
Out of 181 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 122 to 40, while 19 stocks remained unchanged.
CIB, the heaviest constituent of the EGX30, jumped 3.6%.
Today’s top performing stocks were: EFG Hermes, Amer Group, and Telecom Egypt where all jumped 10.0%. On the downside, today’s worst performing stocks included Edita, down 3.5%, Eastern Co, down 0.2%, and Egyptian Iron and Steel, which ended the day flat.
