Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) benchmark index EGX30 gained 3.37% or 395.5 points to close at 12,147.95 points on Tuesday to reach its all-time high.
The small and medium caps index EGX70 added 0.51% to close at 461.15 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 1.01% to close at 1,093.7 points.
Similarly, the equal weighed index EGX50 surged 2.35% to close at 1,923.37 points.
The market capitalization gained EGP 15.8 billion reaching EGP 602.2 billion.
The market witnessed EGP 589.8 million shares changed hands worth EGP 2.26 billion.
The foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 112.03 million, while local and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 10.8 million and EGP 101.2 million respectively.
Today’s top performing stocks were Global Telecom, up 12.9%, Ezz Steel, up 9.2%, and Telecom Egypt 5.1%. On the downside, today’s worst performing stocks included Amer Group, down 3.1%, Orascom Construction, down 2.7%, and Elsaeed Contracting, down 1.9%.
