Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices closed on positive note on Thursday, as the benchmark index EGX30 gained 2.79% or 181.29 points to close at 6669,80 points.
The stocks of Orascom Telecom Media And Technology Holding (OTMT) and Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped 11% and 5.57% respectively on the news that OTMT has submitted an offer to acquire 100% of CI Capital Holding.
By today's session late trade, CIB's board and CI Capital management said they have approved to move forward with the discussions on the potential acquisition of CI Capital, where OTMT will be given access to conduct due diligence.
Meanwhile, the stocks of EFG-Hermes, Palm Hills, Global Telecom, Qalaa Holding, Amer Group, Porto Group, Talaat Moustafa Group and Pioneers Holding went up 1.3% to 4%.
The market capitalization gained EGP 5.17 billion ($660.5 million) to reach EGP 421.59 billion.
The equal-weighted index EGX50 added 2.01% to 1,142.27 points.
Similarly, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 advanced 1.37% to 364.09 points, while the broader index EGX100 leaped 1.23% to 760.95 points.
