Egypt’s bourse close on positive note on higher turnover

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange indices closed on positive note on Wednesday, amid remarkable buying activity by foreign investors and high market turnover.

The benchmark index EGX30 went up 0.97% or 58 points to close at 6,062 points.

The small and mid-caps index EGX70 edged up 0.58% to 351 points.

The equal weighted index EGX50 edged up 0.8% to 1,090 points, while the broader index EGX100 gained 0.51% to 705.8 points.

The heavy weight Commercial International Bank gained 0.94% to EGP 33.6, with trading value of EGP 31.98 million.

The market witnessed total turnover of EGP 633 million on the execution of three ownership transfer transactions on the OPR market, over stocks of Pioneers Holding related groups.

The market capitalization advanced EGP 2.4 billion ($300.8 million) reaching the level of EGP 395.1 billion.

The foreign investors came as net buyers with EGP 21.9 million, while local and Arab investors ended as net sellers with EGP 7.7 million and EGP 14.1 million respectively.
