Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed in green zone on Thursday on remarkable buying activity by Arab and foreign investors.
The benchmark index EGX30 added 1.71% or 215.8 points to 12,824.3 points.
The small and medium caps index EGX70 added 0.37% to 464.27 points, while the weighted index EGX50 rose 1.08% to 1,992.31 points.
The broader index EGX100 edged up 0.18% to 1,113.04 points.
The market capitalization gained EGP 5.3 billion reaching EGP 614.7 billion.
The market witnessed 825.6 million shares changed hands worth EGP 2.24billion, carried out through 43,900 transactions.
Out of 174 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 79 to 60, while 35 stocks remained unchanged.
CIB, the heaviest stock of the EGX30 closed 1.3% up. Today’s top performing stocks were EFG Hermes, up 8.3%, Porto Group, up 6.9%, and Palm Hills, up 5.1%.
Today’s worst performing stocks included ACC, down 1.7%, Egyptian Iron and Steel, down 1.2%, and Ezz Steel, down 0.7%.
