Egypt’s bourse closes on mixed note;benchmark nears 6,100pts

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices closed on mixed note on Tuesday, as the benchmark index EGX30 went down 0.51% or 31.39 points to close at 6,115.54 points amid selling activity by local institutions.

The small and mid-caps index EGX70 added 0.92% to 354.28 points, while the broader index EGX100 gained 0.43% to 726.19 points.

The weighted index EGX50 went up 0.71% to 1,157.68 points.

The market capitalization shed EGP 459 million ($58.7 million) reaching EGP 392.63 billion.

Tuesday’s total trading value amounted to EGP 301 million, with 104.6 million shares changed hands.

Out of 157 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 76 to 47, while 34 stocks remained unchanged.

Local investors came as net sellers with EGP 27 million, while foreign and Arab investors ended as net buyers with EGP 7.4 million and EGP 19.6 million respectively.

Retail investors came as net buyers, while institutions came as net sellers, especially the local ones.
