Egypt’s bourse closes on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed on mixed note on Wednesday, amid selling activity by local investors as well as buying activity by foreign and Arab investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 went down 0.68% or 55.45 points to close at 8,132.75 points.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 slide 0.29% to 358.30 points, while the broader index EGX100 edged down 0.10% to 816.06 points.

The weighted index EGX50 eased 0.28% to 1,366.44 points.

The market capitalization shed EGP 2.46 billion reaching EGP 417.9 billion.

Foreign and Arab investors were buyers with EGP 12.3 million and EGP 3.8 million respectively, while local investors were net seller with EGP 16 million.

Retail investors ended as buyers while institutions ended as net sellers.

The market trading value amounted to EGP 214 million with 63 million shares changed hands.

Out of 138 shares traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 60 to 27, while 51 stocks remained unchanged.
