Egypt’s bourse closes on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices closed on mixed note on Wednesday, as the benchmark index EGX30 added 0.64% or 77.85 points to close at 12,259.83 points on the gains of the leading stocks.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 went up 0.35% to 464.45 points, while the broader index EGX100 slide 0.36% to 1,094.61 points.

The equal weighted index EGX50 went down 0.27% to 1,938.71 points.

The market capitalization gained EGP 2.1 billion to EGP 601.27 billion.

The market witnessed 342.9 million shares changed hands worth EGP 1.1 billion, carried out through 30,360 transactions.

Out of 177 stocks traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 73 to 70, while 43 stocks remained unchanged.

Today’s top performing stocks were; Qalaa Holdings, up 7.5%, EFG Hermes, up 6.1%, and Orascom Construction, up 4.6%, while worst performing stocks included Arab Cotton Ginning, down 4.7%, Domty, down 3.9%, and Arabia Investments, down 3.6%.
