Egypt’s bourse closes on positive note; equities gain EGP 4.24bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices advanced collectively on Sunday on buying activity by foreign investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 went up 0.72% or 83.26 points to close at 11,631.4 points.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 inched up 0.87% to close at 467.63 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 0.68% to 1,095.2 points.

Similarly, the equal weighted index gained 1.25% to close at 1,900.9 points.

The market witnessed 446.527 million shares changed hands worth EGP 1.296 billion that are executed through 37,300 transactions.

The market capitalization gained EGP 4.24 billion reaching EGP 575.77 billion.

Out of 184 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 109 to 46, while 29 stocks remained unchanged.

Foreign investors ended as net buyers with EGP 27.85 million, while local and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 18.8 million and EGP 9.04 million respectively.

Today’s top performing stocks were: GB Auto, up 11.3%, Ezz Steel, up 5.2%, and ACC, up 4.9%. On the downside, today’s worst performing stocks included Orascom Telecom Media and Technology, down 5.3%, Porto Group, down 3.0%, and Amer Group, down 2.9%.
