Egypt’s bourse closes on positive note

Cairo – Mubahser: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed on positive note on Sunday, for second session in row, amid buying activity by local investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.17% or 14 points to close at 8,357.4 points.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 added 0.45% to close at 340.8 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 0.47% to 803.5 points. Similarly, the equal weighted index EGX50 edged up 0.28% to 1,307.8 points.

CIB stocks, largest constitute of EGX30, went up by 0.14% to EGP 52.

The market capitalization gained EGP 653 million reaching EGP 411.7 billion.

The market witnessed 161 million changed hands worth EGP 654.9 million.

Retail investors were net buyers with EGP 18.9 million, while institutions were net sellers.

Local investors were net buyers with EGP 40.1 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 39.8 million and EGP 349,000 respectively.

Out of 160 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 76 to 48, while 36 stocks remained unchanged.
