Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices moved higher in Sunday’s early trade, as the benchmark index EGX30 advanced 3.7% or 211.9 points reaching the level of 5,925 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 went up 1.9% to 350.8 points, while the broader index EGX100 gained 1.7% to 704 points. The equal weighted index EGX50 also climbed 3.3% to 1,076 points.
Earlier today, Egypt’s bourse suspended trading on 18 stocks for half an hour, after they surged more than 5%, mainly Commercial International Bank, EFG- Hermes and Palm Hills.
The market witnessed trading values of EGP 27.1 million.
49 stocks moved higher, while only two stocks declined and 11 others remained unchanged.
Arab and foreign investors stepped in as net buyers with EGP 1.3 million and 1.6 million respectively, while local investors come out as net sellers with EGP 2.9 million.
