Egypt’s bourse edges higher in early trade

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices moved higher in Wednesday’s session early trade on buying activity by Arab investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 1.5% or 91 points reaching the level of 5,986.9 points.

The small and mid-caps index EGX70 inched up 0.6% to 357.6 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 0.67% to 714.5 points.

Similarly, the equal weighed index EGX50 surged 1.39% to 1,091 points.

Almost all the market’s leading stocks opened on positive note, topped by the heavy weigh Commercial International Bank that advanced 1% to EGP 31.5.

The market turnover hit EGP 33.9 million.

Arab investors stepped in as net buyers with EGP 6.7 million, while local and foreign investors came out as net sellers with EGP 4.1 million and 2.6 million respectively.
