Egypt’s bourse edges up in early trade

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange indices moved higher in Monday’s session early trade, as the benchmark index EGX30 added 0.040% reaching the level of 6,180 points.

The market gains followed the news about finalizing the deal of Commercial International Bank (CIB) and Orascom Telecom Media and Technology Holding (OTMT), regards OTMT acquisition of 100% of CI Capital Holding.

Earlier, Beltone Financial, a subsidiary of OTMT, said it has signed a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) with CIB, to buy 100% of CI Capital Holding

The stocks of OTMT and CIB went up by 1.7% and 0.12% respectively, while Egypt’s bourse decided to suspend trading of Beltone’s stocks after it surged by more than 5%.

The market’s trading value amounted to EGP 33 million in Monday’s session early trade.

Foreign and Arab investors came as net sellers with EGP 706,000 and EGP 166,000 respectively, while local investors came as net buyers with EGP 872,000.
