Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices advanced collectively on Tuesday, as the benchmark index went up 0.10% or 6.82 points to close at the level of 6,769.08 points.
EGX announced that it will officially close on Wednesday 24 December on the occasion of Prophet Mohammed's Birthday for the year 1437 Hijri.
Tracking stocks performance, the stocks of EFG-Hermes, Orascom Telecom Media, SODIC, Orascom Construction and Pioneers by 1.6% to 5%.
On the other hand, the stocks of Commercial International Bank, Global Telecom, Qalaa Holding, Porto Group and GB Auto went down by 0.6% to 2.5%.
The market capitalisation gained nearly EGP 763.5 million ($97.6 million), on institutions buying, reaching EGP 423.48 billion.
The small and mid - cap index EGX70 inched up 0.34% to 367.54 points, while the broader index EGX100 added 0.28% to 758.67 points.
Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 inched up 0.79% to 1,157.69 points.
The market's total turnover recorded EGP 604.5 million, with 251.2 million shares through 24,700 transactions.
