Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices advanced collectively on Sunday, as the benchmark index EGX30 added 3.2% or 180 points closing at 5,893 points amid buying activity by Arab investors.
The small and mid-caps index added 2.3% to 352 points, while the broader index EGX100 surged 1.9% to 705 points.
Similarly, the equal weigh index EGX50 advanced 2.6% to 1,069 points.
Sunday’s total turnover reached EGP 358 million.
Out of 168 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 102 stocks to 25 stocks, while 41 stocks remained unchanged.
The Arab investors stepped in as net buyers with EGP 25.7 million, while local and foreign investors stepped out as net sellers EGP 11.7 million and EGP 14 million respectively.
The market capitalization gained EGP 5.8 billion ($732.2 million) reaching EGP 386.3 billion.
The stocks of Oriental Weavers, LIFT SLAB, El Wadi for Touristic Investment, Al Ahli Development and Palm Hills surged within the range of 6% to 8%.
