Egypt's bourse ends on negative note; benchmark drops 2.51%

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices declined collectively on Tuesday, pushed by Arab investors sells-off.

The benchmark index EGX30 sagged 2.51% to close at 6,608.01 points.

The equal-weighted index EGX50 dropped 2.4% to 1,128.17 points.

Similarly, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 slide 2.25% to 360.53 points, while the broader index EGX100 lost 1.91% to 761.74 points.

Tuesday's turnover reached EGP 416.12 million, with 252.25 million shares changed hands, through more than 18,000 transactions.

Local and foreign investors came as net buyers with EGP 44.65 million and EGP 4.3 million respectively, while Arab investors came as net sellers with EGP 49 million.

EGX indices are expected to witness sideways movement on Tuesday, technical analysts told Mubasher in earlier statement.
