Egypt's bourse ends on negative note, benchmark loses 121.08 pts

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices headed south on Monday, last trading session in November, as the benchmark index lost 1.87% or 121.08 points to close at 6,356.65 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank eased 1.38% to EGP 43, with 3 million change hands worth EGP 129.4 million, through 2,600 transactions.

The stocks of EFG-Hermes,  Palm Hills, Qalaa Holdings, Global Telecom, Pioneers, Porto Group, Emaar Misr and Juhayna declined by 1.2% to 5%.

The Market capitalisation shed nearly EGP 3.9 billion ($497.6 million) drives by the institutions sells-off, to reach EGP 413 billion compared with EGP 416.9 billion in the previous session.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 sagged 1.47% to 344.48 points; while the broader index EGX100 edged down 1.29% to 735.49 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 dropped 1.67% to 1,080.21 points.
 
The market total turnover recorded EGP 1.27 billion, on trading 207.6 million shares, through 15,500 transactions.

Arab and foreign investors came as net sellers with EGP 108,600 and EGP 3.5 million respectively, while local investors came as net buyers with EGP 3.6 million.

Institutions came as net sellers, while retail traders were net buyers.

Out of the 163 companies traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 72 to 39, while 52 others remained unchanged.
