Egypt's bourse ends on positive note, benchmark up 0.56%

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices advanced collectively on Tuesday, while the benchmark index EGX30 added 0.56% or 39.17 points to close at 7,021.42 points.

The stocks of Commercial International Bank (CIB), Orascom Telecom Media, Pionners Holding, EFG-Hermes, Palm Hills and Madinet Nasr Housing went down within the range of 0.80% to 2.1%.

Meanwhile, the stocks of Telecom Egypt, Talaat Moustafa Group, Sidi Kerir and SODIC advanced within the range of 0.65% to 5%.

Tuesday's market turnover reached EGP 618.6 million, with 171.87 million shares changed hand through 22,200 transactions.

The market capitalisation gained EGP 2.2 billion ($278.8 million)to close at EGP 429.98 billion.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 went up 1.75% to 383.08 points; while the broader index EGX100 gained 0.94% to 790.58 points.

The equal-weighted index EGX50 inched up 0.92% to 1,199.36 points.

Local and foreign investors came as net buyers with EGP 3.3 million and EGP 30 million respectively, while Arab investors came as net sellers with EGP 33.3 million.
