Egypt’s bourse extends gains for fourth day in row

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices advanced on for fourth day in row, to close on positive note on Tuesday amid buying activity by local investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.74% or 61.7 points to close at 8,447.76 points.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 advanced 0.62% to close at 347.03 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 0.5% to close at 816.29 points.

Similarly, the equal weighted index EGX50 added 1.02% to close at 1,330.98 points.

The market capitalization gained EGP 1.5 billion reaching EGP 414.96 billion.

Local investors ended as net buyers with EGP 58.5 million, while Arab and foreign investors ended as net sellers with EGP 10.7 million and EGP 47.8 million respectively.

Retail investors ended as net buyers with EGP 3.7 million, while institutions ended as net sellers.

The market witnessed 260 million shares changed hands worth EGP 727.96 million.

Out of 165 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 86 to 43, while 36 stocks remained unchanged.
