Egypt's bourse moves above 7,000 mark in early trade

Cairo-Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) benchmark index, or EGX30, moved above the barrier of 7,000 points in Thursday’s early trade, backed by strong buying appetite among foreign investors.

The benchmark added 0.29% reaching the level of 7,094.

The stocks of Commercial International Bank - Egypt, Edita, Heliopolis Housing, GB Auto and Ajwa Group, went up by a range between 0.4% and 3%.

On other hand, the stocks of Orascom Construction, Palm Hills, Global Telecom, Talaat Moustafa and Pioneers fell by percentages between 0.3% and 1.5%.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 edged up 0.01% to 379 points, while the broader index EGX100 gained 0.06% to 790 points.Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 rose 0.05% to 1204.7 points.    
The market total turnover reached EGP 34 million, with 23 million shares exchanged through 1,200 transactions.

Local and Arab investors came as net sellers with EGP 883,500 and EGP 593,200 respectively, while foreign investors came as net buyers with EGP 1.5 million.
