Egypt’s bourse moves higher in early trading

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened on positive note on Wednesday on buying activity by local and Arab investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.44% or 36.6 points reaching the level of 8,269 points on the gains of the leading stocks.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 gained 0.27% to 343.9 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 0.24% to 792.9 points.

The equal weighted index EGX50 inched up 0.36% to 1,307 points.

Local and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 4.1 million and EGP 2 million respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 6.1 million.

Wednesday early trading witnessed 23 million shares changed hands worth EGP 79 million.
