Egypt's bourse opens on mixed note, benchmark down 0.67%

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices retreated in Tuesday's early trade, as the benchmark index edged down 0.67% to 6,408 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 inched up 0.02% to 353 points; while the broader index EGX100 fell 1.25% to 752 points.

The heavy weighed Commercial International Bank declined 0.87% to EGP 41.91.

The market total turnover recorded EGP 106 million, on trading 102 million shares, through 2,000 transactions.

Local and foreign investors came as net buyers with EGP 3.8 million and EGP 5.9 million respectively, while Arab investors came as net buyers with EGP 9.7 million.

EGX is expected to extend downside trend on Tuesday, while the benchmark index EGX30 may test the level of 6,000 points on the weakness of the purchasing power, analysts told Mubasher in earlier statement.
