Egypt’s bourse opens on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kicked off Tuesday’s session on mixed note, as the benchmark index EGX30 fell 1.37% or 81 points reaching the level of 5,812 points.

The small and mid-caps index EGX70 edged up 0.21% to 352.8 points, while the equal-weight index EGX50 inched down 0.82% to 1,060 points.

The broader index EGX100 gained 0.11% to 705.7 points.

The heavy weigh Commercial International Bank sagged 1.5%, while the stocks of Talaat Moustafa, EFG-Hermes, Global Telecom went down 2.48%, 0.58% and 1.78% respectively.

The market witnessed 31 million shares changed hands worth EGP 76 million, carried out through 2,800 transactions.

Arab investors stepped in as net buyers with EGP 2.1 million, while local and foreign investors came out as net sellers with EGP 1.6 million and EGP 463,000 respectively.
