Egypt's bourse opens on negative note

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kicked off Monday's session in red territory, as the benchmark index EGX30 edged down 0.36% to 6,583 points pressured by leading stocks.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 eased 0.27% to 359 points; while the broader index EGX100 fell 0.17% to 772 points.

The equal-weighted index EGX50 sagged 0.16% to 1,132 points.

The market total turnover recorded EGP 106 million, on trading 102 million shares, through 2,000 transactions.

Local and foreign investors came as net sellers with EGP 5.8 million and EGP 10.5 million respectively, while Arab investors came as net buyers with EGP 16.3 million.
