Egypt's bourse opens on positive note

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices advanced collectively in Thursday's early trade, supported by the foreign buying.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 2.04% or 135 points to reach 6,785 points, moving near the level of 6,800 points on the rise of the leading stocks.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 went up 0.76% to 363 points; while the broader index EGX100 gained 1.12% to 765.4 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 surged 1.73% to 1,143 points.

The mid-day, trading value reached EGP 143 million, with 93 million shares changed hands through 243 million transactions.

Local and Arab investors came as net sellers with EGP 995,000 and EGP 2.3 million respectively, while foreign investors came as net buyers with EGP 3.3 million.

The heavy weight Commercial International Bank leaped 2.3% to EGP 46.6, with trading value exceeded EGP 5.6 million.
