Egypt’s bourse opens on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices advanced collectively in Monday’s session early trade on buying activity by local investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 gained 2% or 125 points reaching the level of 6,250.34 points.

Local investors stepped in as net buyers with EGP 3.18 million, while Arab and foreign investors ended as net sellers with EGP 2.35 million and EGP 831,000 respectively.

The stocks of Commercial International Bank, Talaat Moustafa Group and Orascom Telecom Media advanced by 2.7%, 1.8% and 1.75% respectively.

The equal weighed index EGX50 gained 1.31% to 1,115.32 points, while the small and mid-caps index EGX70 inched up 0.53% to 354.11 points.

The broader index EGX100 edged up 0.79% to 714.93 points.

The market witnessed in Monday’s early trade 45.7 million shares changed hands worth EGP 103.7 million, carried out through 4,000 transactions.
