Egypt’s bourse opens on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange moved higher in Thursday’s session early trade, as the benchmark index EGX 30 added 1.9% or 134 points to 7,363 points.

The stocks of EFG-Hermes were the top gainers in terms of price and trading values, as they surged 10.8% to EGP 11.04.

EFG-Hermes announced earlier, the sale of its 40% stake in Credit Libanais for $33 per share.

The small and mid-caps index EGX70 inched up 0.41% to 362.7 points, while the broader index EGX100 surged 0.66% to 774 points.

The equal weighted index EGX50 surged 1.87% to 1,364.7 points.

The market trading value amounted to EGP 229.2 million.

Foreign investors came as net buyers with EGP 34.5 million, while local and Arab investors came as net sellers with EGP 27.7 million and EGP 6.8 million respectively.
