Egypt’s bourse opens on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened on positive note on Thursday amid buying activity by local and Arab investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.22% or 17.7 points reaching 8,163.8 points, while the small and medium caps index EGX70 went down 0.02% to 357.8 points.

The broader index EGX100 gained 0.16% to 814.7 points, while the equal weighted index EGX50 inched up 0.37% to 1,368.3 points.

The heavy weighed Commercial International Bank (CIB) surged 0.22% to EGP 49.5.

Thursday’ early trading witnessed 15.5 million shares changed hands worth EGP 71 million.
