Egypt’s bourse opens on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened on positive note on Tuesday amid buying activity by local and foreign investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.55% or 43.6 points reaching the level of 8,018.4 points.

Tuesday early trading witnessed 31.4 million shares changed hands worth EGP 324.7 million.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 went up by 0.3% to 348.76 points, while the broader index EGX100 gained 0.31% to 786.8 points.

The weighted index EGX50 inched up 0.16% to 1,329.17 points.

Local and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 6.16 million and EGP 9.1 million respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 15.3 million.
