Egypt’s bourse opens on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kicked off Sunday session on positive note amid buying activity by local investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 gained 0.6% reaching 8,393 points by 10:40 A.M.

Most of the market’s leading stocks surged collectively, topped by Belone financial, Amer Group, Ezz Steel, Juhayna, Pioneers, Palm Hills, EFG-Hermes, CIB and Orascom Construction.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 went up 0.39% to 340.6 points, while the broader index EGX100 gained 0.41% to 803 points. Similarly, the equal weighted index EGX50 climbed 0.85% to 1,315 points.

Sunday early trading witnessed 23.5 million shares changed hands worth EGP 50 million.
